Warner
Warner are over 100 years old – having bought the patent for a backless brassiere as long ago as 1914! (when they were known as the Warner Brothers Corset Company). In the 30’s they produced the first all-elastic bra, designed to show off a woman’s shapely curves. It was Warners who, in 1935, created the cup sizing system that is still used today.
Although this is a popular brand, if you’re after a particular design that you’ve seen online it’d be worth ‘phoning the store to check that they’ve got that style and size in store before visiting in person.

Maidenform
Maidenform played a major role in the history of bras when in 1928 seamstress Ida Rosenthal and her husband went into business as Maidenform. They started making undergarments that accentuated a woman’s curves, rather than going with the fashions of the day that emphasised them being flat-chested.
Maidenform today operates in both the US and the UK offering bras, pants, underwear and shapewear for the fuller figure as well as baby dolls for those special occasions.
